King Diamond
Songs for the Dead Live
Metal Blade Records
25 January 2019
This is a live recording of two shows, one in Philly and one at Belgium’s Grasspop from 2015 and 2016 resepectively… so the recordings are a long awaited… and at the age of the King… he’s ageless! Voice is top notch and the music is also, and was ahead of its time… so still relevant and a nice clean recording. Gives a great reason to revist these songs again!

Pull The Plug
Selection of tracks across their discography done all unplugged, primarily for Patreon folks, but then released for all. Great new take on some classics, the new ones and a couple covers they do pretty much spot on (More than Words and Dust in the Wind)

A Pale Horse Named Death
When The World Becomes Undone
Long Branch Records
Next best thing to Type O Negative, a couple of former drummers, and a doomy melodic gothy type sound.

Self Released
a new group of some former Devin Townsend band and Byron Stroud and others… It had a heavy edge some good wall of sound, but it’s got that accessible clean vox part, catchy… i’d like to hear s’more!

Live at Symphony Hall
Classic metal, melodic metal, power metal type stuff, all live.. great performance and recording too

Screaming, Murder, Death From Above: Live in Aalborg
Classic NWOBHM stuff, but all new and live! They just came through here and I missed it, but yeah i heard it was waaaay great… this sort of makes up for it and makes me wish I found a way to go!

Kane Roberts
The New Normal
Frontiers SRL.
Solo album from longtime Alice Cooper axeman. One of the singles here features Alissa from Arch Enemy on vox, good catchy hard rock then getting good and metal when Alissa brings out the growls. Great song, the other has a little bit of a bluesy rock classic rock feel.

Built To Destroy
Minus Head Records
Famous for being the band of Max Cavalera’s step kid, this band has its own thing, a good catchy grooving extreme-ish metal. Harsh vox, guitars on “Built to Destroy” actually have a little bit of a Jeff Loomis tone to me

Dark Sky Choir
End Of Days
Classic metal, a tiny thrashy, a bit of a melodic edge too. Cool stuff.

The Atlantic
